(reported by a participant Jeroen Hoppenbrouwers)
In the weekend of 18-20 Aug we celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the Ryu Sui Kan dojo in Waldniel. After we had the regular training on Friday, Saturday morning started with measuring our bow strength, and arrow weight etc…
This was to determine nice equal team to compete in as it was Taikai day. At the end of the day we had some fun shooting as we were trying to hit some moving balloons. The Sunday. Of course .. a gasshuku isn’t complete without eating together. Again… as always the food was absolutely delicious. We trained/ worked hard in the dojo, but could not have done that without all the work that was done in the kitchen. It was a wonderful weekend with many archers. I have never seen the dojo this full. Having trained with everybody for 3 days it was fun to see the differences in styles between the countries. We were all doing the same thing, but clearly each country had their own way of doing so. For me it was the first time to see it so clearly… nice. Personally I had a great time training with everybody again and it sure was pleasure celebrating this anniversary.
Thank you Kameo sensei and Heike for a wonderful weekend.
