An international Gasshuku took place on the weekend (17.- 19. Sep) at the Ryu-Sui-Kan Kyudojo. All guests arrived on Friday evening and joined the training of the clubs members. For a short time, we had five nationalities training together (JP, DE, NL, DK, LV)
The 1st day of the Gasshuku started with morning gymnastics in the dojo. All Gasshuku participants tried the Japanese delicacy „Natto“ at the Japanese styled breakfast. The morning session started with Mochimato-Sharei and shooting continuously in TaiHai, in order to set the consciousness to the center. After lunch with „Veggie-Burger“ from HeikesKitchen, we practiced the shooting with focusing on the extension of Zanshin. In the late afternoon, we made a small walk around our small town Waldniel. Before dinner we practiced free shooting with a little bit casual style under the sun, coming into the dojo. After the four courses menu from HeikesKitchen, we practiced the free shooting in smart casual style until late night.
The 2nd day of the Gasshuku started again with morning gymnastics. After the breakfast, we started practicing the Mochimato-Sharei like the day before with focus on the body and mind in space. Additionally we trained the movement and mind-setting of Shajo-Kakari (general helper in Shajo) and part of Kaizoe (personal helper for archer). After the lunch, we practiced free shooting to experiment and experience the feelings. After the whole program of the Gasshuku, we had coffee time with the Danish speciality aebleskiver, which were eaten mainly by wasps.
